About Lara

Lara is a seasoned singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, artist and dedicated educator whose musical journey began at nine. Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Lara pursued classical studies in AMEB for piano and cello, which quickly expanded her passion for music to include singing. During these early years, Lara participated in solo and group performances, competitions and various local and state orchestras. Her early dedication to the arts paved the way for a rich and fulfilling career.

After completing High School in 2012, Lara pursued a Diploma in Sound and Audio Engineering, which opened doors to the music industry. She began working as a session cellist, pianist and vocalist for a range of Sydney artists, expanding genres from folk to psychedelic rock to Soul to electronic-pop, gaining invaluable experiences that would inspire her to transition into music education. As a music tutor, Lara has taken on roles in one-on-one and group settings, as a strings coordinator, vocal coach and music arranger for various artists in writing and recording sessions. Lara’s coaching experience includes working at a community drop-in center for homeless individuals, showcasing her commitment to using music as a tool for empowerment and connection.

In 2018, Lara launched her solo project, “LADY KING”. Her debut single received praise from local radio stations, solidifying her position in the Sydney soul and R&B music community. The project has allowed Lara to explore her unique sound, performing weekly in venues across Sydney, commanding the stage and leading as a front woman, and connecting with audiences through heartfelt songwriting and captivating performances.

Recently, Lara made the bold move to Bangkok, Thailand, where she has spent the past two years working full-time as a professional singer in jazz clubs and music venues across the country. After years of living abroad, Lara has accumulated a wealth of experiences that have enriched her musical knowledge and artistry.

With a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of the music industry, Lara is poised to offer unique insights and inspiration to fellow musicians and students alike. Lara’s journey reflects a profound dedication to music, teaching, and creating connections within the vibrant world of sound.
