I've lost count of nights slipping into candlelit speakeasies, where the smell of perfume mingles with whiskey and a small crowd circles a grand piano. The drummer locks in the groove, double bass slides under, and the singer claims the lone spotlight. As a performer, this intimate energy, where the room breathes with the musicians, is my favourite stage.
As LADY KING, I deliver tailored live music experiences for special events, corporate functions, parties, engagements, and weddings. With over a decade in live entertainment, I bring sophistication and soul to every stage with performances that are both captivating and deeply personal.
Curated for fans of Sade, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott, D’Angelo, and Luther Vandross, my shows blend timeless Soul, R&B, and Jazz with a modern touch, paying tribute to the great jazz voices of Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday, and bringing their spirit to life in the moment. Whether it’s an intimate lounge setting or a lively dance floor, I craft sets that are elegant, expressive, and unforgettable.

DUO
- voice & instrument -
In this set up, I sing with a drum machine, accompanied by a keys player who’s splitting the keyboard with bass, creating a full sound experience with just two people.
TRIO
- add rhythm or horn -
Adding another player opens up room for more jams enhancing the live experience. I would sing and use keys with an added player. If choosing a drummer this would require an appropriate space with minimal acoustic limitations but if this is the case, a saxophone would add smooth-jazziness to the mix.
FULL BAND
- voice, instrument 1 & 2, rhythm -
A four piece band offers full sound coverage and is the standard live band set up with voice, keys, drums, bass or horn. This set up is dynamic and offers diverse energy.
DJ BAND
- DJ, voice or instrument -
A high-energy fusion of DJ and live musicians. Combine live vocals, saxophone, percussion or your choice of instruments for an electrifying, personalised performance spanning jazz house, soulful disco and electronic.
